Kate is Managing Director and founder of Blue Shadow Marketing, a full-service agency based in Cumbria, working strategically with clients to help their businesses to grow and flourish across various industry sectors.

Michelle Atkinson

Michelle Atkinson is a passionate professional in PR and Communications with 30 years of expertise. Michelle has many fascinating and practical examples of PR and Communications in action, achieving awards from the likes of CIPR for their endeavours. With a keen drive to help others succeed, Michelle is here to help you.

Karen Barrie


Karen has a wealth of experience gained from a variety of marketing and communications roles over many years in a range of sectors and organisations.

David Colley


David is currently a Senior Lecturer, specialising in branding and marketing communications, at Manchester Metropolitan University, joining the nesma team to support the Diploma qualification teaching.

Mark Davis


Mark is passionate about marketing, education, training and developing the skills of business, he is a Chartered Marketer with a vast range of practical experiences.

Joanne Dolezal

Joanne is the lead consultant at Dolezal Consulting and works with business owners and marketers to help them make marketing work for their business. Her expertise lies in the strategic planning of integrated marketing and communications campaigns, in particular for specialist products and services for niche markets.

Laurel Hetherington


Laurel is a very experienced trainer, public relations lecturer and trainer from foundation to masters level.

Anne-Marie Lacey


I deliver CIPR Qualifications as well as bespoke training on Influencer Marketing.

Wendy Moran


Wendy has worked in PR and Marketing for over 15 years, working both in industry and academia. Most recently she was Senior Lecturer and Programme Leader for the MSc Public Relations at Manchester Metropolitan University Business School. Wendy is an accredited PR practitioner, has chaired a national committee for the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), judged national PR awards and am co-author of ‘PR and Communication in Local Government and Public Services,’ part of the CIPR PR in practice title, published by Kogan Page in July 2013.

Steven is the owner of Casual Effect a digital consultancy agency, his experience spans many sectors including Public and Third Sectors, Educational, Insurance, Hospitality and Housing

Phoebe Casey-Miller

Phoebe is the lead trainer for the Embedding Insights in your Business workshops, as part of the nesma Know-How & Do series. Phoebe is Head of Research and Insight at DRG. After gaining a first-class degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Newcastle University. Phoebe is a natural researcher and has worked on an eclectic mix of quantitative and qualitative research projects for brand and media clients across the UK uncovering insights to inform business decisions. Phoebe has a passion for design and is the company’s resident design-guru and loves finding engaging ways to present data, insights and recommendations and has been involved in the creation and design of a range of infographics.

Simon Clayton

Simon Clayton is a highly motivated, creative and driven educational specialist, with a proven track record in coaching, training and mentoring business leaders, entrepreneurs and in-house management teams. He is also a Senior Lecturer, Career Coach and Enterprise Mentor at Teesside University Business School, and published author ‘Marketing Masterplan – How to plan, create and implement your marketing strategies and grow a profitable business’’.

Catherine Eve

Catherine is an Executive Director for the Centre for Leadership Performance, a not for profit organisation that have been developing Cumbria’s Leaders for Today and Tomorrow for the last decade.

Andy Green

Andy Green is a leading expert on storytelling for PR, comms and marketing and has written 7 books on brand communications. He works with in-house teams and agencies around the world using real-world experience and case studies to transform their use and management of story-telling and corporate narrative.

Paul Hitchens


Paul Hitchens is a TEDx Speaker and the author of three bestselling books on brand management published by Hodder Education: ‘Brand Management – In A Week’, ‘Successful Brand Management’ and ‘Create the Perfect Brand’. He is a Chartered Marketer with an MA in ‘Brands, Communication & Culture’ and has gained over thirty years creative industry experience working both agency and client side for household brand names.

Jacqui Jackson
