What I do for nesma

Alongside my professional practice, I teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in universities and deliver bespoke training for my clients. I also deliver CIPR Qualifications and bespoke training on Influencer Marketing for nesma.

My background

I am a Chartered PR Practitioner and have operated as an independent consultant for 10 years, and have twice been the recipient of the CIPR PRide Independent Practitioner of the Year Award (North East) in 2012 and 2018, and also a national finalist in the CIPR Excellence Awards 2019. I have worked in PR both in-house, agency-side and for private, public and third sector organisations. I am a CIPR Council Member, member of the CIPR Professional Practice Committee, co-chair of the CIPR Influencer Relations panel and also Vice-Chair of CIPR North East I am also a blogger too with my own family, food and travel blog My Boys Club and also write about all things PR on my own website.

My particular skills & expertise

I’m a strategist and a doer who can also research, plan and manage. I love to work as part of a team but also happy on my own. Not knowing what is coming next but be being prepared for it, is how I like to operate.

Why I love my job!

I love making a difference, being busy, being creative but I also have an analytical and logical mind too … so put these all together and I think I’m in the perfect profession for me.
