nesma thinks it is a good role model for the businesses and students we work with. It is not by accident that Lucy finds herself enrolled on the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing after successfully passing the CIPR Foundation Award in Public Relations.

Veronica comments, “I’m in the knowledge business and most of all I love looking at ways to share knowledge with others. I encourage everyone who joins the nesma team to build their skills, and I try to inspire, challenge, and influence the way my students think about their position within the business they work. Helping others to improve themselves definitely motivates you to keep growing yourself’.

Lucy explains, “Working at nesma has fuelled my passion for communications, and it’s been amazing to have the opportunity to study with nesma. I have already completed the CIPR Foundation Award in Public Relations and several other short courses, and I can’t believe I’ve now got the chance to study the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing.

“Not only will it help build up skills relevant to my job, but I’ll also be experiencing first hand our product offer. This will help me deliver the best customer experience I can, as I’ve been there and done it! It’s a bit akin to the Patagonia style of employee relations, “Let my people go surfing!” enthusiasm is contagious! I am really looking forward to meeting my cohort as the feedback that I always get from students, is that that they love the support and encouragement that they get from their peer group. Some of them have made life-long friendships in our study centre classrooms.”

nesma is an accredited teaching centre for the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the Digital Marketing Institute in the North East, Scotland and Cumbria. Alongside these qualifications, sits a continually evolving programme of contemporary day courses designed with marketing and PR professionals and entrepreneurs and business owners in mind. The aim is to help them grow their specific knowledge and skills in short bursts.

All nesma’s courses can be delivered as in-house sessions to support particular initiatives and target clearly defined skill gaps.
