Harriet is a graduate of the CIPR Foundation in Public Relations (L3) and works at Wolverhampton Grammar School as their Design & Digital Content Manager.

She chose to study this qualification after progressing in her current role as she wanted to reaffirm the knowledge she had gained on the job during the pandemic.

She says, ‘I felt that gaining a CIPR qualification would help me consolidate my knowledge and stand me in good stead when considering new opportunities in the future. My newly acquired skills and learning have allowed me to believe in myself more and have confidence in my decision-making.’

Harriet continues, ‘This qualification is just the right length. 2.5 days worked perfectly. It allowed me to combine studying and working full-time alongside freelancing. The two 30-minute feedback sessions with the course tutors were beneficial and provided good feedback opportunities, which allowed me to go away and progress further with my submission.’

In summary, she confirms that ‘I now feel more confident in my current role when giving advice and guidance around Public Relations.’ And she thinks, ‘If you’re unsure about a career in PR or Communications, give the Level 3 Foundation in Public Relations a go – it provides a good insight into the fundamentals of PR and allows you to create content suitable for different audiences. No two days are ever the same within a Communications, Marketing and PR role, which enables you to learn new skills, meet new people and get involved in various activities.’

The CIPR Foundation in Public Relations focuses on the skills required for an entry-level PR role and qualifies you to enrol for the CIPR Professional PR Certificate.
