Course Overview
This Specialist Digital Award from CIM develops knowledge and skills to enable a strategic content planning and creation approach.
It covers three areas: the first area develops skills to create a targeted content strategy to deliver organisational objectives. The second area covers how content can be successfully planned and distributed, and the third area develops skills to create effective copy for a variety of target audiences.
There are currently four specialist digital awards you can choose from.
Content Strategy
Aims of the module
Content marketing is fundamental for addressing important audience questions as well as building trust, developing relationships, and improving conversions. This Specialist Award provides a strategic approach to content marketing that aligns with wider corporate and marketing goals. You will gain skills to enable the creation of an effective content strategy and manage its implementation, including the provision of appropriate copy for a variety of audiences.
Module structure
Develop a targeted content strategy
- Purpose and goals, audience, customer journey, story, content pillars, process, and measurement.
- Models for content effectiveness( Hub, Hero and Hygiene model).
- Content scheduling.
- Keyword research.
Plan the creation and distribution of effective content
- Content plan, content formats, content-driven experience, content curation, media channels, KPIs, and metrics.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Formulate effective copy for a targeted audience
- Customer journey stages, personas. Principles of copywriting, structure, call to action
Assessment Method
The assessment methodology for the CIM Level 6 Specialist Awards is via onscreen Multiple Choice Test (MCT).
Entry Requirements
For marketing managers and marketers working in operational and supervisory roles, who are looking to progress their strategic and management skills. You can choose between two qualifications to suit your individual career path. Equivalent level to an undergraduate degree.
You’ll need to have a minimum of two years’ experience working in the industry at an operational level or a relevant Level 4 qualification to study the Diploma in Professional Marketing.
If English is not your first language, you will also need to provide evidence of achieving one of the following English Language qualifications within the last two years: IELTS Academic Module with an overall score of 6.5 (each component pass mark must be 6.0 or above) or Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English grade B or above. CIM will consider other equivalent alternatives.
