Christine Brennan, former student of nesma and employee of Capita’s (P&I), has recently been awarded a promotion to become the Regional Business Development Manager for North Tyneside, Blackburn and Colwyn Bay in Wales.

Capita’s (P&I) is a wholly owned division of Capita plc, a FTSE 100 member and the UK’s leading provider of integrated professional support service solutions.

In her previous role Christine was responsible for a small team based in the North Tyneside office. Along with her promotion there has come increased responsibility, not only does she now cover several new areas, she additionally manages a Business development team of 5 staff. Christine’s role requires her to produce high quality bid proposals whilst implementing and delivering business development and marketing strategies for her region.

It is no surprise that Christine is moving onwards and upwards in her career as along with completing her CAM Digital Diploma in Marketing with nesma in 2014, she was also awarded foundation level certificate with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) in 2013. Christine told us she is also submitting for Practitioner Level this month.

After speaking to Christine about her promotion she told us she was “over the moon” with her new role. In addition, she went on the mention that she “really enjoyed” the Digital Marketing Diploma she completed with nesma and is now implementing many of the skills she learned, in her new position.

We would like to congratulate Christine on her promotion and we wish her much luck for the future!

Karen Graham joined fast growing Story Homes as PR and Communications advisor and within weeks was on the move again to the company’s new offices at Carlisle’s Kingmoor Business Park.

As she settles in to Story Homes, she will be focussing on PR, social media and internal communications for the entrepreneurial family business’s staff of over 150 across Cumbria, Lancashire, NE England and Scotland.

The award winning company has set itself the ambitious target of becoming one of the UK’s top ten house builders and is poised to achieve this, after doubling the number of homes built and sold in the past two successive years.

Karen, who joins Story Homes from Cumbria University’s Marketing Department, is equally ambitious. Karen has passed the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Professional Certificate having already completed the Introductory Certificate with nesma.  Her new boss, Tracy Calvert, is equally industrious and also studying for CIM qualifications with nesma.

Tracy Calvert, PR and Communications manager, said: “Karen has joined a small but dedicated team who juggle lots of promotional and reputational balls for a fast growing company. It’s an exciting opportunity for Karen to learn lots of new skills as she jumps from marketing to PR and the theory of her professional qualification with nesma has been a great grounding for this. Karen can confidently tackle internal marketing and social media with knowledge and experience, which comes across in her work.”
