Due to sustained business growth Houghton International has an opportunity for a hands-on marketing assistant to join their growing team. The successful candidate will work with the Senior Marketing Executive to deliver an effective and creative b2b marketing strategy that supports business development and growth objectives across a range of target sectors regionally, nationally and internationally. As a key member of the team, the ideal candidate will have some b2b marketing experience and be looking to develop their skills, knowledge and career in a fast paced, growth orientated business.   

Working across the whole marketing mix, this is a varied role that requires exceptional communication skills to create, plan and deliver targeted marketing campaigns and engage audiences both on and offline.

Key tasks include:

  • Delivering targeted marketing campaigns in line with the marketing strategy
  • Enhancing the company website and growing our digital presence to generate leads and aid conversion
  • Assist in creating promotional materials including adverts, brochures, marketing copy and other content both on and offline to engage with niche target audiences
  • Assisting in the organisation of promotional events – regionally, nationally and internationally
  • Market research – exploring gaps in the market and identifying opportunities and competitors to inform business planning and marketing strategy
  • Collating data by monitoring the effectiveness of campaigns and reporting on marketing activity and key performance indicators to inform future tactical execution
  • Providing ad-hoc admin support to sales and marketing team as required

Typical qualities of the successful candidate will include:

  • Degree educated (or equivalent)
  • Some experience in a b2b marketing role
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A creative approach to b2b marketing
  • Proven track record of creating and disseminating content
  • Online, website CMS and SEO experience
