CIM has launched a revised syllabus for their qualifications

The revision has embedded Digital and Metrics in all modules and the development of a digital pathway from Level 3 to Level 6.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is the largest and most successful professional marketing institution in the world and its courses and Professional CIM qualifications are accepted and respected worldwide.

Our new term starts in January 2020 in Newcastle, Cumbria and Edinburgh.

CIM Level 3 – 

At Level 3, CIM qualifications are the Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing and Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.

If a module is studied as a standalone module, an individual award can be achieved.

Pathway 1 – Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing

The Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing has been developed following extensive employer-led research across a range of sectors and size of organisations; qualification providers; academics and students.

The two modules that must be studied to gain the full qualification include;

  • Marketing Principles
  • Communications in Practice

Pathway 2 – Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing

The Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing has been developed following extensive employer-led research across a range of sectors and size of the organisation; qualification providers; academics and students.

The two modules that must be studied to gain the full qualification include;

  • Marketing Principles
  • Digital Fundamentals

Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing

Successful completion of the CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing will equip the student with the knowledge, skills and understanding to be able to perform in a support level role and to carry out an essential and successful professional marketing role within the workplace. To achieve the CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing a pass in the mandatory module and one elective module is required. However, each module can be achieved as a distinct, self-contained award which, if required can be built up to attain the full qualification.

Who is it for?

The CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing is aimed at those both in a job that already involves marketing or those who wish to find out about marketing with the intention of starting a marketing career. Some typical job titles may include marketing assistant, promotional assistant and marketing campaigns assistant.

Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing

Successful completion of the CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing will equip the student with the knowledge, skills and understanding to be able to perform in a support level role, in a digital context and to carry out an essential and successful professional marketing role within the workplace. To achieve the CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing a pass in the mandatory module and ONE elective module is required. Each module can be achieved as a distinct self-contained award which, if required, can be built up to attain the full qualification.

Who is it for?

The CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing is aimed at those both in a job that already involves digital marketing or those who wish to find out about digital marketing with the intention of starting a digital marketing career. Some typical job titles may include digital marketing assistant, social media assistant and content marketing assistant.

The Level 3 qualifications are designed with flexibility with options to complete both whole qualification or simply an award.

Successful achievement of the CIM Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing Foundation Certificate in Professional Marketing will allow progression onto the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing or the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.

CIM Level 4 –

At Level 4, CIM qualifications are the Certificate in Professional Marketing and Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.

Currently there is one elective module available, however, the intention is to continue to add more elective modules in response to changing marketplace needs, as required. The qualification has been structured to reflect the need for a flexible and bite-size approach for today’s professional marketer. The CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing is aimed at the aspiring professional marketer who wishes to gain knowledge and skills to succeed and progress within a career in marketing. Some typical job titles may include marketing executive, marketing officer, marketing communications executive and communications specialist.

Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing

The CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing is designed to offer progression from all CIM Level 3 qualifications and also links with the Level 4 Certificate in ProfessionalMarketing. Successful completion of the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing will equip the student with the knowledge, skills and understanding to support decision making within a digital context at an operational level and carry out an essential and successful professional marketing role within the workplace. To achieve the CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing, a pass in both mandatory modules plus one elective module is required. Currently there is one elective module available, however, the intention is to continue to add more elective modules in response to changing marketplace needs, as required. The qualification has been structured to reflect the need for a flexible and bite-size approach for today’s professional marketer. Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing

The CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing is designed to offer progression fromallCIMLevel 4 qualifications and also links with the Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing. Who is it for?

The CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing is aimed at those working in an operational, supervisory or management role who wish to develop their knowledge of digital techniques and their application to a number of marketing-related projects. The student will typically be operating in or aspiring to work in a digital marketing role and will be required to create digital solutions within the wider marketing plan. The qualification will develop both the knowledge and the level of applied skills required. Typical Job titles may include the following: digital marketing manager, digital communications manager, content marketing specialist and customer experience manager.

The Level 6 qualifications are designed with flexibility, with options to complete both a whole qualification or simply an award.

Successful achievement of the CIM Level 6 Diploma in Professional Digital Marketing or Diploma in Professional Marketing will allow progression onto the CIM Level 7 qualifications.
