They say good things come in threes
Rosie has just completed an amazing year and it’s proof that “Good things” really do come in threes!
We caught up with Rosie in Carlisle to congratulate her and get a quick update on how things were going.
What is your job in a nutshell?
I currently work at Burnetts Solicitors in Carlisle, I am the Marketing and Events Assistant. My role is wide-ranging and includes many things such as updating the website and social media, organising the event guest lists, drafting email campaigns, writing the professional profiles for the website and creating a monthly metrics report for our social media and email campaign accounts.
Tell us about your career journey so far?
I left Nelson Thomlinson School in Wigton having completed my A Levels, I knew I didn’t want to go to University, so I looked for some other form of marketing qualification. I started working with Veronica and nesma three years ago, and I have now completed the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing and the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing (Digital Strategy) which is BA Hons degree level equivalent.
How did you get your first job?
When I was told I had an interview, I researched the company and assessed their website and offered suggestions of how they could improve. The director rang me two hours later to offer me the job.
What is the most enjoyable part of your job?
At Burnetts there is a fantastic team ethic, everyone helps each other regardless of whether it is their job to or not. The firm looks after their staff really well which is reflected in the atmosphere, comradery and productivity.
What do you love about working in your industry?
I love that you never have one day the same as the other, there is always something new and different happening in our department. The mixed variety of tasks means that Marketing is an enjoyable department to be in. I love to be creative and organised (the latter sometimes a bit too much!).
Has studying with nesma helped you in your current role?
The support that Veronica has provided me with throughout my journey with nesma has been phenomenal, I will never ever forget what a kind and supportive women she is. She was one of the first people I messaged when I had my baby girl. The team at nesma were always very supportive if I ever had any questions. The training sessions were extremely informative, and it was really beneficial to talk to other people outside of your company who are in the same if not similar positions. Without nesma, I wouldn’t be doing my dream job.
