Introduction to Social Media Marketing
This module will familiarize you with the concept of social media marketing as a key driver of your business’s overall digital marketing strategy. You will understand the foundation principles and key channels of social media marketing, and learn how to develop an integrated, effective social media marketing strategy that will complement your business goals.
You will be able to recognize the value of ongoing monitoring and analysis to optimize your social media efforts and spend.
This module will introduce you to the concept of engaging with and acquiring customers through the creation of relevant, compelling content. You will understand the value of social amplification and what incentivizes your target audience to share content across social media platforms. You will learn how to leverage social listening to monitor both your competitors and your own brand in order to determine the best performing content types and topics to engage your audience.
This module will equip you with the knowledge and skills to create and implement a persuasive content calendar targeted at a variety of appropriate personas in order to maximize engagement and conversion.
You will learn about the concept of content seeding and promoting, and how you can distribute content efficiently and effectively across social media platforms to achieve maximum reach.
You will acquire an understanding of how to promote content and the importance of paid promotion within a content strategy that aims to circulate relevant, highly shareable content. In this module, you will learn how to set feasible objectives, promote your content for maximum results, and conduct influencer outreach in order to guarantee the best possible reach and visibility for your brand across all social media platforms.
This module provides you with a comprehensive understanding of how the platform can facilitate community building and management, content marketing and brand promotion. You will learn how to use Facebook for business and be able to develop and manage a Facebook Business Page. You will also be able to create and serve a variety of Facebook ads, and plan an overall Facebook advertising strategy that includes setting relevant KPIs and ongoing measurement.
This module will demonstrate to you the value that Twitter can provide to businesses as a marketing and brand promotion platform. You will be equipped with the ability to set up and manage a Twitter account for business, and know how to optimize your profile to attract and engage customers.
You will learn how to use Twitter to target potential customers and be able to leverage a variety of platform-specific features, such as hashtags, Direct Messages, and advanced search options. You will also learn how to use Twitter’s native analytics platform to measure your activity on the channel.
This module gives you a comprehensive understanding of the benefits to incorporating the use of LinkedIn into your social media marketing strategy. You will learn how to develop your personal brand by creating a compelling profile and developing and engaging with valuable LinkedIn connections. You will also be able to create, manage and join a variety of LinkedIn groups, and use them to stimulate engagement and expand your network.
The module will teach you how to use LinkedIn as an advertising platform and create and run customized ad campaigns and cover everything from ad copy creation to measurement. You will also become familiar with a range of platform features, including Pulse, LinkedIn’s native publishing platform and SlideShare, and learn how to use these features to advance your social media marketing goals.
This module will equip you with the skills you need to get the most out of Google+. You will be able to set up and optimize Google+ Business Pages and Communities, and understand how they can be used to facilitate discussion, share content and establish your brand as an industry thought leader.
You will learn how to use Google+ to generate engagement with existing connections, and extend your reach with new ones. You will learn how to leverage platform-specific features including Events and Hangouts, and understand how they can increase your brand visibility and reach.
You will recognize the relationship between Google+ and enhanced search rankings, and learn about the range of social plugins available for you to consolidate your Google+ presence, such as +1 buttons and Google+ badges.
This module provides you with a comprehensive understanding of how YouTube works as a content sharing platform and how this can be introduced into a broader marketing strategy. You will learn about using YouTube as a platform for a call-to-action and how to embed videos to your brand website to increase the interactive experience for your consumers. You will also learn how to use enhancement features to improve your video content. The module will equip you with the crucial skills needed to make your brand’s video content searchable and you will emerge aware of the wide range of YouTube social media plugins available.
This module examines the latest emerging trends in social media and new platforms on which you can share your content. As social media is an area of digital marketing that develops at a rapid rate, we aim to cover all bases by providing you with an analytic look at future developments in the field. You will also learn about other social media platforms, such as Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest and Flickr. The aim of this module is to equip you with the skills you need to take on any social media platform and implement it into your social media marketing strategy.
Social Media Strategy and Planning
This module ties the other modules in the Professional Diploma in Social Media Marketing together. It introduces you to the Digital Marketing Institute Methodology, which incorporates a 9-step process to planning and implementing a social media strategy. You will emerge with the essential skills needed to create a successful model for a social media marketing strategy from scratch and implement it in your organisation.
The 3 hour exam consists of a range of question formats including multiple choice and hot spot questions. There are no text based/written answers.
